Visit to our partners in Crete

During the third week of May, the second in a row educational trip of the executives of A&E Stylianou Technochemical Ltd. to Ierapetra and Heraklion, Crete was successfully completed.

During the first day of their visit our agronomists had the opportunity to be shown around Ierapetra by the people of Rijk Zwaan Hellas and to visit some of the main greenhouse crops of the region. They then visited the agricultural cooperative “Notos” where they had the opportunity to discuss issues of production and marketing of agricultural products and in the afternoon they were hosted at the new experimental station of Rijk Zwaan Hellas where the company’s hybrids are cultivated for evaluation purposes in real conditions.

The next day, the eight-member delegation visited the headquarters and the modern soil laboratory of Rijk Zwaan Hellas, where a discussion was held on the importance of water and soil analysis for the producer and the ability of the laboratory to detect the percentage of elements available for the plant in the sample.

Their trip continued with a visit to Heraklion and the factory of Crete Plastics. There they had the opportunity to tour the research and development, quality and laboratory control, production and recycling departments of the plant, noting at all stages the high level of quality and the reasons why Crete Plastics excels. The visit of our agronomists was completed with a presentation of the historical course of Crete Plastics from its foundation until today and a discussion of technical issues on new innovative technologies and the properties that have been applied to polyethylene sheets.

We would like to thank our partners-suppliers Rijk Zwaan Hellas and Plastika Crete for their excellent hospitality, the experiences they provided to the staff of A&E Stylianos Technochemicals and the long-lasting cooperation over the years with the ultimate goal of providing quality service to the Cypriot farmer.
