GCL

Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCLs) are composite materials consisting of bentonite bonded between woven and non-woven geotextiles that can be used as a liquid barrier. Bentonite is bonded to geotextiles by needlepunching , a process that reinforces the bentonite layer with thousands of fibers, maximizing the internal resistance of the product.

GCL has a wide range of applications such as

  • Landfill projects
  • Dams
  • Channels
  • Lakes
  • Waterproofing of buildings and similar structures.
